Jockey Badly Hurt In Four-horse Fall

BRISBANE jockey Jamie Bayliss was rushed to Nambour Hospital unconscious after a horror four-horse fall at Caloundra yesterday.

Bayliss suffered head injuries when he crashed from Satan's Landing at the half-mile mark in the sixth race.

A helicopter was on stand-by at Nambour to fly him to Brisbane.

The three other jockeys involved in the fall escaped serious injury.

They are: Michael Kerr (fractured leg); Scott Galloway (shoulder injury); and Bill Kenning (knee injury).

Toowoomba jockey Ken Waller was last night in a satisfactory condition in Brisbane Hospital after suffering back injuries when he fell from Felton Stride in front of most of the field in the Kingfisher Bay Handicap at Eagle Farm.
